About our hotel booking system
|
|
Our hotel booking system features a huge range of hotels
and other accommodations in Italy. Choose from major metropolitan
capitals such as Rome as well as smaller towns and villages.
Our aim is to to provide you with comprehensive listings for
each city, allowing you the freedom of choice and the ability
to contact properties directly. We work together with hotel
system Venere to provide you with our hotel booking system.
The service does not operate like a travel agent, in that
specific requests for information on properties cannot be
provided by Discover Italy itself. Instead, we give you the
opportunity to view pages, check availability and prices and
then send reservation requests to hotels.
Unlike other directories, our booking system provides a comprehensive
listing of properties for each city, with many containing
web pages and availability on-line. For holiday makers or
business travellers, Discover Italy is a convenient, comprehensive,
secure and efficient service for planning your next trip.
Making a booking is easy; simply scan the hotel web pages
for the destination chosen, and then by registering with our
booking parter Venere, check availability for the selected
hotel and book directly using credit card. A response will
arrive from the hotel via email. Reservations can then be
modified or cancelled later if required. Searches can also
be carried out on special offers or on availability for a
specific period. Navigating your way around the world has
never been so easy.

How to cancel a reservation
|
|
To cancel reservations, follow the instructions for 'How
to View, Modify or Cancel a Reservation' and click onto the
"View/Modify/Cancel" link of the booking you wish to cancel.
Then click on CANCEL at the bottom of the following page.
There is no charge for cancelling a reservation on the part
of Discover Italy, however each property has its own cancellation
policy which is included in your reservation confirmation.
Please make sure you read the cancellation policy for each
property carefully to avoid cancellation penalties.

Security/Privacy
We take your privacy and the security of your information
very seriously indeed and you can feel 100% safe making an
accommodation booking with Discover Italy.

Registration:
The information requested when registering is to assist with
the administration of reservation requests and is completely
confidential. All information is sent via a Secure Server,
providing the highest level of security available.
Credit Card Details:
Your credit card details are necessary in order to guarantee
bookings. Credit card information is sent to the property
via Secure Server, ensuring these details are protected.

General Terms and Conditions
|
|
1. Scope of Application
These General Terms of Business apply to your reservations
using the worldwide On-line Reservation System Venere.
2. Booking
Every hotel reservation request made via the On-line Reservation
System will be transmitted to the appropriate hotel by our
booking partner Venere which operates as agent for your request.
The function of Venere is to establish a direct link between
hotel properties and Internet users. Venere does not take
any responsibility for responses provided by hotel properties
to reservation requests.
3. Copyright of contents published on Venere
Venere registered users guarantee copyright of the information
published as feedback regarding the properties in question,
or guarantee to have acquired the rights of copyright and
reproduction of the said feedback on Venere and that the use
of the said feedback by Venere does not in any way constitute
a violation of copyright or any other violation of third party
interests.
Venere has the unlimited right (but not the responsibility)
to verify, publish, refute or exclude from publication, all
or part, of your opinion. Therefore, if Venere maintains that
what you have written is not suitable for publication, Venere
has the absolute right to exclude it.
Feedback such as that contained in the following list is prohibited.
All participants guarantee that they will not use feedback
that
- is deliberately false or biased;
- is pornographic, immoral or in any other way offensive;
- is defamatory or criminal in any way;
- is against the Constitution, the law, public law and order,
or contains extremist views, or comes from banned organisations;
- contains viruses or other content that may palce at risk/damage
or could place at risk/damage other computers in terms of
software or hardware;
- represent chain emails or surveys.
In case of breach of the copyright laws or of the terms and
conditions , Venere reserve the right to claim compensation.
Users relieve Venere from any claim that a third party may
arise against Venere for misuse of the material. Venere reserve
the right of defence against such claims. The user in question
will reimburse Venere of all juridical costs and will support
Venere against claims of third parties, submitting all necessary
documentation.
4. Use of the mailing service on Venere.
Please make sure you express yourself in an appropriate manner,
with no offensive content. Be reminded that the service provided
can not be exploited to circulate market researches,contests,hoaxes,adverts,
slanderous messages, or to convey inappropriate contents,
names, material or information. Also, it is forbidden to enter
links or information which could spread viruses,Trojan horse,
worms, corrupted files or any other software or program which
could harm other hardware or software. Please do not send
material using someone else's e-mail address as sender.
In case of breach of the copyright laws or of the terms and
conditions, Venere reserve the right to claim compensation.
Users who take advantage of the mailing service provided by

5. Contract for accommodation and payment.
The accommodation contract comes into being at the time of
the confirmation of the reservation request by the hotel to
your email address. You pay the confirmed Venere room rate
directly to the hotel. All rights and obligations arising
from the ensuing accommodation contract exist directly and
exclusively between the booking party and his/her chosen hotel.
6. Amendments and cancellations
In order to avoid misunderstandings, all amendments and cancellations
should always be made via the Venere Reservation System which
can be accessed through Discover Italy.
7. Hotel categories and hotel information
Hotel classification is based on national standards and regulations.
Star-rating provides an indication, without obligation, of
the hotel standard, bearing in mind possible self-assessment
by the hotels. All hotel information, description and images
are based on those supplied by the hotels.
8. Room rates
All rates are furnished by hotel properties directly into
the Venere system. All prices are per room and per night,
sometimes including and sometimes excluding breakfast; this
varies from hotel property to hotel property. All prices include
taxes, however in some countries, a local tax is charged on
top of the room rate and/or a service charge may be included.
The amount of this tax is subject to constant change and can
only be indicated approximately.
9. Miscellaneous
Every care is taken in the compilation of this information.
No liability can be accepted for any errors in the processing
or transmission of data. The transfer, wholly or in part,
of data into another media, or use for purposes other than
those provided for here, is only allowed with the express
permission of Venere Net, Roma. Italian law governs the contract.
Court of jurisdiction and place of performance is Rome.

How to make a reservation
|
|
Once you have opened the Web Pages for the property desired,
click onto 'Make Your Reservation' and select the dates and
room type required. The system will supply you with an immediate
response, giving availability, price and automatic currency
conversion of your choice.
If you wish to proceed with the reservation request, click
onto 'Go on with the Reservation'. The system will ask for
your login and password, which are given to all registered
users. If you are not registered, select the 'I'm not a registered
user' option and click onto the grey box. Follow the instructions
to register yourself as a user. If you cannot remember your
login name or your password, click onto 'Forgot Your Password?'
at the bottom of the page and the system will send your registration
details immediately to your email address.
Once a response has been given and you have entered your user
registration login and password, you can make a reservation
request, completing the form, including credit card details.
Information is sent via Secure Server, ensuring that your
personal details can only be viewed by yourself and the recipient
(ie. the hotel). This will arrive at the hotel straight away
and they will provide a response as soon as possible. A booking
number appears on the screen for your reference and a response
from the hotel will be sent directly to your email address.

How to search for a property
|
|
Quick Search :
Enter the name of your desired destination and the property
category. Select 'Go'.
Search by Country:
Select your destination from the cities listed. You will then
be given the number of property listings with contact details,
those with web pages and the number of those with the on-line
reservation service. Choose which you wish to view.
Property Listings:
These are comprehensive listings of properties in the selected
city, which must be contacted directly by users. All details
shown are provided by official Tourism publications and/or
hotel properties themselves. Rates provided are indicative
only.
Web Pages:
These are independent property Web Pages. Click onto the property
name to view Web Pages and contact the property to make your
reservation.
Properties with Availability On-Line:
These are properties with the Venere on-line reservation system,
enabling you to view the property web pages, immediately check
availability and prices and then send a reservation request
directly to the hotel.

How to view or modify your reservation
|
|
To view, modify or cancel your reservation simply go to our
homepage at www.venere.com and click on YOUR RESERVATION on
the upper-right-hand of the page in the USERS section. Enter
your registration login name and password. The system will
"welcome" you, so click on VIEW AND MODIFY RESERVATIONS to
see the reservation requests you made through Venere. The
system will show you hotel name, date of request, dates of
check-in and check-out, price and status of your booking.
For each reservation made, you will also notice a clickable
link "View/Modify/Cancel". To view previous reservation requests,
or reservation requests by arrival, status, hotel name or
city, select from the search criteria given below the list.
